This grave with 26m length and 5-7 m wide was built 5000 years ago in the Funnel Beaker culture. At that time the entire plant was covered with a mound of earth. This eroded over the centuries. Therefore, the four topmost stones of the grave chamber became visible. When the grave was excavated in 1840 by the chamberlain Estorff, six skeletons were found with grave goods. The skeletons, however, originated from the Middle Ages: The actual grave chamber in the center had been robbed at that time already. Almost 4,000 years after its construction, the grave has been used again by the Slavic population . Of the original burials from the Neolithic, remains were no longer detectable. Those graves were used for a whole kin. Some walls have more than 100 m in length and contain two or more stone chambers. They were in use for long periods. The walls were bordered with "smaller" erratic blocks, that now are often missing.
